Man. I feel naked/powerless without cephalopod and coral identification books. I knew there were gaps in my marine life id books, but those are huge gaps. So... I ordered some -- and they are definitely not cheap. And, that doesn't mitigate the fact that I don't have them right now.
don't know what this is? neither do i. it's nearly microscopic, too.
Hmmm. Perhaps I should capture/hold hostage someone who knows scientific names to lots of marine critters. That would make my life much easier.
this cool-looking nudibranch isn't in any book i've seen
Oh well. At least I can currently ID all the fish, nudibranches, worms, snails and crustacea I photographed during the last trip. It's already past midnight, but I should be able to get through them in the next couple of hours. If I can do that, then the Rajah Ampat travel journal should be online some time during my New York visit. I'm getting lazy in my old age. Last year, the thing would have been done & ready to upload before I stepped back onto land!
*UPDATE - 3AM* There is no way this is going to be done tonight. I'm about half way through the critters -- and I haven't packed yet for New York. :( Good night! No Rajah Ampat photos until I return. :)
