Epson 2200 Printer Driver Removal

Does anyone out there know of a utility that will completely remove all traces of the Epson 2200 printer driver from a Windows XP system? This is really boring, so if you're not a tech geek, stop reading.

Two of my machines print fine with my Epson. Unfortunately, the setup process failed the first time when I was installing the printer on the machine that serves as my print server (I let it time out), and I think the install didn't quite work properly. The 2200 prints a test page, but everything else just craps out during the printing process (printer just stops, but sometimes makes high-pitched nozzle charging sounds). Again, two other machines can drive the thing beautifully when hooked up to the printer directly, and other printers work fine when connected to the same USB port (on the server).

The print server *is* a slightly older machine (Dell P4 2.0 Ghz -- about 2 years old?), and I have three printers and one scanner hooked up to its 4 USB ports. Windows XP SP2 has been installed very recently on it, so it's pretty much a fresh machine. Perhaps I should stick a firewire card in it and use that.

All I want to do is remove the Epson driver *completely* so I can fool the system into thinking it's still an Epson virgin (required for setup to complete properly -- it's always been this way, and I hate Epson for making it so). Add/Remove Programs doesn't do it properly, the bastard.

Frustrated!

Oh well. I guess I'm happy that all my peripherals get their own machine; it seems that all hell breaks loose when you connect too many devices to any machine, and with fully functional Dells at less than $500 shipped, it's easy to buy an extra.

Here is another way to completely rid your computer of all Epson files is as follows:
1) Click on the Windows START button
2) Click on SEARCH
3) Select ALL FILES OR FOLDERS
4) Under All or Part of the File name, type in the word EPSON.
5) Under Look in, make sure LOCAL HARD DRIVE (C) is listed here.
6) Click on the button that says SEARCH
7) Now I would like you to delete all the files it finds.

Next:
1) Click on the Windows START button
2) Click on SEARCH
3) Select ALL FILES OR FOLDERS
4) Under All or Part of the File name, type letters OEM.
5) Under Look in, make sure LOCAL HARD DRIVE (C) is listed here.
6) Click on the button that says SEARCH
7) Now I would like you to delete all the files it finds, only the ones
that are related to Epson. To verify if it is in relation to Epson, double click on the OEM files it finds and if the document that pops up has anything relating to Epson. Once you see it is an Epson related OEM file, you may delete it without consequence.

Once that is done, your computer will be free from the Epson files.

Detailed Description of Problem:
How can I remove the Epson driver completely from my sister for reinstall?
When I use Add/Remove programs to remove the Epson software, it goes through the motions, but it''s still here.

I can''t print properly from one machine. It used to work, but no longer does. Two other machines work fine when I hook them up directly. The USB port on the machine with the problems is working, as other printers print fine when connected to it.

I''d like to completely uninstall the existing drivers and reinstall them.
When I try to reinstall right now, the computer never recognizes the printer when it''s plugged in during that phase on the driver install (and thus, the correct ports never get set up!).

thank you,
Eric
