I returned from Tanzania last weekend during the middle of my 10-year college reunion. I was so tired that the last thing I wanted to do was drive the 50 miles to Stanford and back, but I finally decided that I should probably go -- especially after having missed the 5-year (I was actually on campus, but was preoccupied).

Adam Tow and I met up at Livia's place on campus and walked over to Tresidder together. It was funny -- the first people I saw were Mandy and Elliot, who had just returned from their honeymoon. Mandy was nicely tanned; I assume Elliot tried to tan himself as well, but his Minnesotan blood probably noticed the attempt and blocked the effort.
Even though I saw a lot of people I hadn't seen in 10 years, I have to say that it just felt like a party where I happened to see people from the past. Perhaps it was my extreme jet-lag that made me feel that way... or perhaps it was that most of the people I saw and spent time with were folks that I still see often.
I did really enjoy seeing Sara Sheriff. We were good friends at the very beginning of college, and I had always wondered how she was doing.
There was a moment when someone came up to me and exclaimed, "you're the shark guy!" It was Elisabeth Avnet Morse, a fellow alum (and shark-lover) who had earlier sent me an e-mail after seeing my reunion book page (which has sharks on it).
Some folks I saw: Adam Tow, Carrie Casselman, Mel Atienza, Xinhua Chen, Elliot Sather, Mandy Knox, Sara Sheriff, Cindy Yu, Gwo Lee, Vivian Chiang, Joe and Rachel Chang, Gallant Chen, Chung-man Tam, John Cooper, Philana Chen, Rachel Saunders, Christy Chung, George Chen...
I didn't take many photos, but here are a few. I think Adam took a bunch, but since he rarely posts photos of non-biking stuff these days, we'll see if they ever go online.
