LOTS of photos below. Sorry about the size of this page. :) We had a full, fun-filled day 2 in Portland. We had jamba juice, ate crappy Thai food at Typhoon, climbed up Multnomah Falls, ate at a good Tex Mex place called Esparza's, roamed around the hospital, and went to the gym. The Portland area was very comfortable and clean. I wasn't used to the local demographics, though. Here's my totally superficial impression. There seemed to be three types of people roaming about: liberal granola types, people looking like they just strolled out of an REI or Northface store, and mullet-bearing hicks.
I don't remember what Tex Mex place we went to, but it was pretty good (except that both Kenny and I ordered salmon, and it tasted sort of strange). They had these scary puppets and stuffed coyotes and turtles on the ceiling.
The hospital is a cool place. I am not going to mention it by name, because I don't know if I can actually post these photos or not (gotta avoid search engines!). Kenny had to take down all his surgery photos he had previously posted on his web page. I guess we'll see. :)
more pics from tonight: (it's actually monday, oct 21 right now -- what's the deal with the fireworks in san francisco tonight? was today some special day or something?) |
