OK, here's why I like this sequence.
At first, the image seems simple and visually appealing. It looks like a single image or idea (someone in mid-step) separated into 4 separate prints. Upon closer inspection, you will notice that not everything fits as it should, which creates a sense of conflict. Although the image sequence reads from right to left spatially, it reads from left to right temporally. The wave comes in... and washes back out. The imprint on the right-most image was left by the boot in the image preceding it. The framing of all of the images is identical, yet creates the illusion of larger spatial coverage.
