ECHENG.COM - Egypt Trip 2000

September 13-20, 2000
- Introduction

Standing in front of the great pyramid in Giza

In September, 2000, I decided to go to Egypt with a friend named Beverly, who was going to be there for a conference. The trip included two days of roaming around Cairo followed by a four day Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan. Afterwards, I flew to Berlin for four days before returning to San Francisco, but that trip won't be covered in these pages. :)

Egypt was amazing, because so much of both Western and Eastern culture originated from its rich past. It was a nice contrast from California, where something is considered ancient if it's more than thirty years old.

The following pages hold many, many photos from the trip. I hope you enjoy them! All photos were taken with a Canon EOS 3 SLR Body, Canon 17-35 2.8L and 28-70 2.8L lenses, a Yashica T4 Super, and a Canon 550EX flash. I shot mostly Fuji Reala 100 and Kodak Max 400 film, and scanned the developed negatives with a Nikon Coolscan III.
