Photos: Pipefish and Pipehorses

Rajah Ampat was home to the most pipefish of any destination I've been to. On an almost daily basis, we saw ghost pipefish (halimeda, ornate, harlequin, etc.) and other species pipefish and pipehorses. I also managed to snap a shot of a pipefish aerating eggs in its pouch, which was pretty exciting.

A Honshu pipefish (Doryrhamphus japonicus). It has a black-margined blue strip and a circular tail with three orange spots. It is a cleaner fish and found associated with sponges and Diadema urchins.(Dinding Selatan, Sel Pelee)
